The Dam Keeper crew went plein aire painting this morning! I haven't painted outside in ages and I was feeling super clumsy with my watercolors :> was loads of fun anyway.
My friend Justin commissioned me to design a Salvador inspired tattoo for him. It has been in the works for a while but he finally got it done. He wanted to incorporate the stilts motif that's found in plenty of Dali's work ..and jellyfish.
Here's a piece I did for my Conceptual Illustration class with the Barron last semester. We chose the theme, Future Myths. My take resulted in a kind of silly( but totally plausible) mechanical garbage-eating shark world.
I submitted both of these pieces to Brevspread, a Bay area monthly arts and letters zine. They are producing some great material and always looking for submissions, so check it!
The girls and I did First Friday last week. The quilts/texture gallery had a shadow puppet craft table out and we spawned those fellas in the center. behold, chicken-butt and chicken-brains.
inspiration for todays monster.
Come check out my tumblr. There's gonna be a monster-a-day :>
